WinTaper is designed to make your live tape collection fun and
easy to manage. As both a database and tape label generator,
WinTaper handles the many tedious tasks of maintaining a tape
list - quickly and efficiently. With WinTaper you can add, edit
or delete a tape with a few clicks. You can sort your list by
data field. WinTaper can print your tape list, save it as an
ASCII file, copy it to the clipboard for pasting into your
favorite windows application, or create HTML versions of your
data for posting onto the Worldwide Web. Individual tapes may be
copied via the clipboard to another running instance of WinTaper.
Jam Codes, a WinTaper exclusive, handle not only the traditional
"arrows" (indicating a segue) but also other
information such as cut songs, reprise's, encores, special notes,
and more. In addition, Jam Codes provide a handy way of
formatting tape labels. WinTaper also features advanced search
features, allowing a variety of searches on any data fields,
including songs, tape formats, and tape quality. A new global
Search and Replace feature allows quick data updating across an
entire file. Each tape file can be personalized with a name and
address, which can be automatically printed on all tape labels.
You can limit the data you display, export, or print with
Filters. Filters are a powerful way to view only the data you
want to see. When filtering is active, all WinTaper processes are
constrained by the filter parameters. You can save all your
favorite filter parameters in Filter Sets for fast retrieval.
With the new Tape List Print procedure, you can create a
beautifully designed hard copy of your tapefile. Just check the
items you want to appear in the list and press OK - WinTaper
handles the rest. You can even include the songlist in your
printouts.
WinTaper is also a powerful tape label creator. WinTaper creates
beautiful labels on the fly for any tape in your list. All
popular tape formats are supported - cassette, DAT, VHS, 8mm and
more. Customized font selections can be saved for each tape in
the list, and custom font settings can be saved in Font Groups
for easy retrieval. In addition to the standard label, WinTaper
includes a full-featured Label Editor. The editor allows you to
place any WinTaper data directly onto a blank label form. Any
combinations of fonts and font colors can be used. In addition,
graphics up to 24-bit color depth can be added to the tape
labels. Graphics can be added either directly from bitmap (.bmp)
files or by pasting them in from the clipboard. This latter
method assures that virtually any graphic can be placed on a
WinTaper Label. Objects can be dragged and resized to .001 inch
precision in a full WYSIWYG editing environment which can be
zoomed anywhere from .33 to 800%. Objects can be copied and
pasted between labels. The editor also features docking/floating
toolbars and a full MDI editing environment.
WinTaper truly represents a comprehensive and complete approach
to tape database management. It also utilizes the latest
Microsoft Windows features. While the new 32-bit versions for
Windows 95 and Windows NT may look exactly like their 16-bit
counterparts, the 32-bit versions utilize the latest software
technologies under the hood. The result is software that runs
fast and clean all day long. But power and reliability are not
the only features that users demand in a software product.
WinTaper is also very easy to use. Yes, easy. Thats because
it conforms to the standard Microsoft Windows conventions for
Graphical User Interfaces. So if you know Microsoft Windows, you
probably already know how to use WinTaper, and you can start
using it productively right now. If you do get stuck or have a
question dont worry - full context-sensitive help is only a
mouse click away on any WinTaper screen. Because after all, if
you cant figure out how to use an application, what good is
it anyway?
