WinTaper 1.60 raises the level of perfomance and adds many new features to make your tape collecting and labeling even easier and more enjoyable. Important features include:

SEARCH AND REPLACE

WinTaper now has a new search and replace function. With this feature it's easy to make file-wide changes such as correcting a common misspelling or changing a song name. Options such a case sensitivity and field exclusion let you tailor your search and replaces. Also, both the Search For and Replace With data entry windows feature history drop-lists to minimize repetitive typing.

HTML EXPORT

WinTaper's new HTML Export feature lets you quickly and easily publish information from your WinTaper files to the Worldwide Web. With just a few clicks you can create an interactive, browseable, online representation of all your WinTaper data. Or check the Use Filter option and customize the data to be output to suit your fancy using WinTaper's advanced filtering features. Just copy the files WinTaper produces onto your web server and provide a link into the tape list page. That's all there is to it. You can even run your favorite browser automatically right after creating the pages.

.BAK backup files

WinTaper now gives you the option of maintaining .bak files of all your important WinTaper data. These files are automatically updated whenever the file is written to (after write success is verified). Thus, your key data is always safe. If you don't want the extra security and disk overhead required in maintining the backups, you can disable this option by choosing File | Preferences from the main menu. The program will also run slightly faster when auto-backup is disabled.

File Filtering and Searching

Locate any data quickly and easily using WinTaper's File Filtering and Search features. These two functions share search sets containing frequently repeated search/filter criteria. WinTaper comes with several preconfigured search/filter sets, such as Soundboards, Audience, Dead, Non-Dead and a few more. You can create as many sets as you like. Also you can edit or delete search sets. Search sets provide a powerful and fast way to get to the data you want without being distracted by data you don't want. When a filter is active, all other WinTaper features, printing, exporting, etc, are all governed by the current filter.

WYSIWYG Preview Window

With the click of a button you can preview a WinTaper Label. Leave the preview Window open and it updates automatically as you navigate around WinTaper. Zoom to any view from .01% to 1000%. The Preview window even re-opens at the screen position it was located when it was last closed, with the last zoom you selected.

Improved Tape List Printout Format

WinTaper 1.60 features a totally re-designed Tape List Printout. The new release makes it much easier to print great looking tape lists. You simply specify a few simple options and WinTaper takes care of the rest. The new layout makes much more efficient use of the printed page and is significantly easier to read than previous output formats. Also, the problems with certain printers that the early beta versions suffered with have been corrected.
